Been a while...

I am the worst blogger ever!!!!! Just a little update...Mike was supposed to be home Tuesday (tomorrow) at 10:30 am....welllllll, thank to the bitch we call mother nature, he may not even make it home for Christmas :-(

I will be working on Chrismas day, so hopefuly I can spend some time with my mom on Christmas Eve. The house is coming together a little at a time, and hope to have it put back together by the time Mike gets home!!

Feeling a little Up and Down

First off, let me just say that I took my final test for my Cosmetology State Boards today!!!!!!! Now to wait for 7 to 10 days to see if that are gonna give me a license to whack off some hair!!!

Btw, have I mentioned that a few months after my sweet Michael bought me this lap top that my cat Pierre jumped up to lay on it and lost his footing and ripped off my letter a, s, z and the left shift key? Well, it is a giant pin in the ass to type now. Just wanted you to know that. I called about getting it fixed and they want to keep it for three weeks to fix it!! Well, I just can't have that, so I have been suffering along with a handicapped computer. So if there are missing letters here, please for give me.

Now for the downer.....While I was working so hard to make sure I got my state board haircut just right yesterday, my mom was at her doctors appointment with two of my sisters with her. She has been having a low blood count, so her doctor wanted her to have another endoscopy and a colonoscopy to see where the problem may be. So yesterday they did the endoscopy, and found the area of her stomach (upper GI) to be completely healed from the ginormous bleeding ulcer she had a few months ago!!!!! It was perfect! Then while performing the colonoscopy, he had a hard time seeing because her colon was not completely empty, even though she had drank all the liquids they prescribed the day before and did all the "cleaning out" they required. He said there was "mud and muck" obstructing his view and he was going to postpone the rest of the procedure until tomorrow (that would be today) to give the colon a chance to be completely ready. He proceeded a little further up the colon to the transverse colon and as he rounded the corner, he saw it.....a dark mass, the reason the "mud and muck" could not be completely cleared out. There was no room for it to pass around completely due to this "mass" or TUMOR! TUMOR....OMG, my mom has a freaking TUMOR!!! I pictured this awful thing in my head attacking the sweetest, most loving woman I have ever known. Can you imagine, I just spent the morning completing a state board practical exam and elated to be finished, and I call up mom to see how the test was that she was taking, and she calmly said "they found a TUMOR". My God, are you freaking kidding me here!!!! She was so non-chalant about it, and I was on the other end of the phone trying to absorb the words and digest what she said. All I kept thinking about was that this woman has been sick with so many different things this year, and she is NEVER sick!!!She is the healthiest 81 year old out there. Now some little bitty piece of shit TUMOR is attacking her little self. And with all the calmness that was there, she seemed unfazed, I was still and silent. SO, this is what I was told be the sisters, the thing is about 1 inch, and since mom is so tiny, she has plenty of colon to work with, and the doctor wants to do surgery ASAP to remove this necrotic (dead/dying) tissue. He feels very confident he can remove it and reattach the colon together and she will not need any chemotherapy or oncology at all. He said she is very strong and healthy, and a perfect candidate for this procedure. WHEW!!!!!! I feel better now!!! NOT 100% better, still freaking out here that mother has the "C" word. I am so sad that she has to go through this, but so happy that it can be fixed and she doesn't seem worried at all. MY MOMMA IS A ROCKSTAR!!!!!

I pray everyday that God will watch over my family and keep them safe, happy and healthy. I know he answers prayers, I have witnessed his miracles. I also know that everything happens for a reason, and I am so thankful that the doctor said that when he was going to stop the procedure, he kept going a little further because "God guided him there". Thank you God for your guidence, your love and your protection.

Exhausted!!!!

Wow am I glad this work week is over!!! I normally see anywhere from 3 to ten clients a week......this week....26!!!!!! WOW am I tired!!! Not so much from the work, but hauling my massage table up two and three flights of stairs for some outcalls. That damn thing was not that heavy before!!! I guess with this extra 30+ pounds it just feels heavier. No matter....I made up some for missing so much work over the last month or two.

I passed my written exam, now all I have to do is get through the practical Monday!!!

My reward for all of this....I am gonna go see Kathy Griffin tomorrow night!!!!

Life keeps going....

No matter what happens, life just keeps on going. Wether a baby is born, loved ones pass away, people move or you lose your job....life jus keeps on going as if nothing ever happened....at least in your little world.

I was supposed to be studying for my state boards today, but life happened and I eneded up taking almost 2 hours out of my day to deal with the bullshit this drunk driver has caused, but do you think he cares? HELL NO!!!!!

Accident Report

This is the van after a drunk driver hit my oldest daughter and grandsons! They are alright, but Jeni is very sore, gonna get worse before she gets better. I am thankful to GOD that they are alright. The other driver, born in 1958, white male, DRUNK, is now in jail where the bastard belongs!!! He was driving a 1985 El Camino, that's his tail light you see in the bottom left corner. We have a court date on November 12th at 3:30. The driver had no license, no tag, and the car was not even his. I am so angry that this man was swerving down the road and hit my babies! Get this, this son of a bitch was swerving, there were two drivers behind him on the phone with police dispatch reporting him right before he hit them, and they told the dispatcher that he just hit someone. OMG WTF!!!!!! This man needs to be beat!!! He hurt my family and he could have caused even more damage. I am so thankful to GOD that he is in jail! I hope the system doesn't fail them.

Well, I am almost finished! I will graduate from Cosmetology school next Saturday, September 26th at 4pm!!!!! WOOOOFREAKINHOOOOOO!!!!

Yea Yea Yea....I know, I know!

I know, I am the worst blogger ever!!! You come here to see what's going on.....and nothing!!! What can I say....ALOT!!!!! Two More Weeks!!!!!! WOOT WOOT WOOOT!!!! I will be finished with cosmetology school in 2 more freakin weeks!!!!!!! I will be able to get my life back and spend some time with my bff's and my hubby and grandbabies and my beautiful daughters!!! Speaking of daughters...today is my babies 24th birthday and tomorrow is my big girls 26th!!! WOW...I did make me some pretty girls!!!! I love them so much!!!

So....my loving husband never says anything one way or the other about my hair has made two comments, once when I went back to my natural red, and yesterday, when he said he missed his redhead (it's been blonde and brown for months now). So, this eveing, I decided, with some help from my classmates, that this wonderful man never asks anything from me, so the least i could do for him was to return to my red-headed self. Well....this is what went wrong!!!! With all the blonde highlights in my hair, I now have some seriously RED and burgundy going on. I was laughing so hard when I was running the blow dryer that I almost peed myself. Still laughing, I came up the staris to my loving Michael who simply smiled and said, "what's wrong with it, I like it". I feel that he may have just said that because he loves me unconditionally. But in hindsight, I really think he thinks it's cute. We shall see how this plays out tomorrow when the public gets a glimps of this new creation. There is no crayon in the box to describe it!!! My fear is that the highlighted areas will turn a little pink over the next week if I don't put a brown rinse over it to tone the red down.....hummmm.....Pink is my favorite color!!!!! We shall see.....more tomorrow!

Count Down......

WOW!!! It's almost here!!!! I will finish Cosmetology School at the end of this month and take my state boards next month!!!!! WOOOHHOOOOO!!!!!! Finally!!! What will it feel like to have my nights free to play with all my new treasures!! And more over, to spend some time with my family and friends!

Finally, a moment to post

There is now proof!!

The proof is not just in the pudding, it’s in the scrapbook too!! The proof being that when you spend money, you are happy, and there is no buyer’s remorse!!!!

I set myself up on a plan of what I wanted to spend on my first ever scrapbook convention….which also proves that the best plans don’t always come to fruition! To make the long story short, I made that trip to the ATM not once, but twice! No shame, no regrets, no idea that I should have taken more cash out the first time not only to avoid the fees, but to avoid interrupting my valuable shopping time!!

I also learned that you don’t have to spend $9.95 to get internet service in a 5 Star hotel….just pilfer the FREE internet from the conference center!!! What kind of fool did they take me for, that $9.95 bought me a beautiful acrylic album kit!!!

Moving from the convention to the short 3 hour trip to yet another scrapbook haven….I managed to spend some more, imagine that, more treasures!!!! It does not end!!!!

In case you’re lost here….I left last Wednesday, with my Amber, to Charlotte, NC for the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention! We arrived at our hotel that night, unpacked and settled in for our 4-night stay. We prepared our bags for the preview crop on Thursday and the first of our 11classes that evening. We stayed up pretty late with excitement for the next day. I was giddy with excitement as I looked through the glass windows overlooking the convention floor. All the treasures that waited below would be in my hands the very next morning!!! But first things first…we had to pick up our registration packets and head to the preview crop…where I got nothing done on any of the projects I brought to work on…but, I did some early shopping (enough to cover my queen size bed). I had to bring myself to reality for a moment and realize that this is to me, what Disneyland is to a child….pure awe and amazement!!! I am in heaven here!!! We had a sketchers crop that night after the first of three amazing dinners at Uno’s restaurant (YUM)!!! I have been in such a blur, If it were not for my Amber taking pictures, I would hve no clue what we worked on that night. Thanks girlfriend!!! Back to the room to revel in my first glimpse of heaven!

Friday is here!!!!! We get to get up, and ……………go to the……………………………Sprint Store!!!! What??? Thought we came here for a scrapathon!!! Oh did I forget to mention that Satan called my Amber last night and broker her charger port!!!!! Being as my Amber is self-employed and hundreds of contacts are stored in her phone, it needed to be addressed immediately!! With the best customer service ever, we were on our way to go Shopping!!! We also had our first class of the day!!! Hummmm, no idea what the first purchase was, but my Amber took a picture of it!!!! YEAH!! I don’t know how it happened, but in our first class of the day, my Amber was covered in black ink!!! And she’s an old hand at this stuff! We had very little space to spread out for our classes, but we had so much fun!!! More shopping, and then dinner and then…..another bed full of treasures!!!! Can’t wait to get home and see what I bought!!!! More classes and shopping tomorrow!!! And even better, my Brandy will be here tomorrow!!!!

With the excitement of the day ahead, I managed to get three whole hours of sleep!! Running on adrenaline and coffee, my Amber and I set out for an early class!! Got to the class and realized it was a beginner class, who doesn’t know what a stamp pad is!!!!!! Are you kidding me!!!! We made the decision right then to blow off the other classes, but to go pick up our kits for each one. We wanted to spend the day with our Brandy and SHOP!!!! Boy did we!! We also made several passes by the Skinny Cow booth, where every time you walked by, someone was shoving an ice cream bar in your hands, and being the polite southerners we are, we took them, said thank you and ATE THEM ALL!!! I will not tell you how many, because it is a girls right to some privacy here! But we know, and it’s okay, it was a skinny cow right?

Back to the room with so many treasure and those two ATM trips!! The bed is again covered with treasures!!!! WOW!!! I can’t remember seeing so much love in one room for something other than my amazing Michael!!! Did I forget to tell you that he is the most amazing, supportive, loving man ever!!!!!

Our trip to Raleigh to Archiver’s was fun. I loaded up on all the new Smooch colors!! We found some more good deals, my Brandy and my Amber and I stayed within our budgets too! Good Girls! We headed to dinner at Ted Turners place, Ted’s Montana Grill, where I had the best prime rib ever!!!! WOW!!! Then to our final night of scrapping! We had some interesting aroma therapy compliments of my Brandy, and some trickery on my part with a Baby Ruth bar floater. We realized that we are never to fun to play!!! We settled down like big girls and actually did something new….my Amber taught us a Donna Downy technique for painting on canvas! Our books we received at the convention as freebies (gotta love those) were a hideous yellow. We each used some really pretty colors to paint them and they are now b-e-a-u-t-I-f-u-l!!!
I made it home with all my treasures, greeted my wonderful husband, who has been sick for three days (he missed me!), all my puppies, my cat, my beautiful Jeni, and my sunshines, Dylan and Noah! I showed all my treasures to Jeni, make hot dogs and fries and am now sitting in the loft with my honey! Life is so good!

Time to get down to scrappin'

Woohoooo! Time has flown by since we made plans to get to the convention, and as eager as I was in the beginning, I am eager now!!! The only problem has been life getting in the way of finishing my cards for the card swap, and gathering up the things I need for all the crops and such. Now, I do need to ask the question of what should I take to put all my treasures in once I purchase them!!! The list said no rolling totes or cropper hoppers on the sales floor!!!! WHAT!!! Where will I put my new toys!!!

Here I am!!!

Well.....now that my best girls have a blog, I must get on the bus and go for the ride. I guess this will be a good way to clear my head of the aimless meanderings that float in and out....trust me, there is a lot of floating going on up there!

I have worn many hats in my life, but so far the best hat I have been blessed to wear is the one of "Nana" to my beautiful grandson's Dylan (6) and Noah (4). These little guys never fail to light up my heart everytime I see them!

Here I will try to keep you up to date on the many changing career fields and hobbies that my life twists' and turns through. Hummmm...does that make any sense? Oh well....you know me, so therefore it makes perfectly good sense....right ;-)
